How to build a Telegram Mini App with ChatGPT or Claude, without code
By Kinetropic, the maker of Koi Launch · Updated:
Short answer
Connect Koi Launch to ChatGPT or Claude, describe the app, preview it in the chat, then ask to publish. You get a link that opens the app inside Telegram as a Mini App, and in any browser. It takes about five minutes, costs nothing to start, and you do not need to create a bot or write code.
What do you need before you start?
- A ChatGPT account with access to Koi Launch in the official plugin directory, or a Claude plan with custom connectors.
- For ChatGPT, open the Koi Launch listing, install it and sign in. For Claude, follow the connection guide.
- A Telegram account, only if you want to open the app inside Telegram. The web version needs no Telegram at all.
How do you build a Telegram Mini App step by step?
- Connect Koi Launch once. Add the Koi Launch connector in ChatGPT or Claude and sign in with Google, email or Telegram. The connector URL is https://launch.koiswarm.com/mcp.
- Describe the app. Tell your AI what to build, for example: “Make a chemistry quiz for my class, 10 questions per topic, and review my mistakes at the end.”
- Preview it. Ask for a preview. It runs in the same environment your published app uses, and Claude can show it right in the chat.
- Publish. Say “Publish it.” Every publish is a version, and the link stays the same.
- Open it in Telegram. Open the link, or open @koilaunch_bot in Telegram and pick the app from your list. Share the link in any chat.
What prompts work well?
- “Build a flashcard app for JLPT N3 vocabulary with spaced repetition.”
- “Create a pomodoro timer that keeps a daily streak.”
- “Add a class leaderboard with the top 10 scores.”
- “Make the buttons bigger and add a dark theme.”
- “Roll back to the previous version.”
Short follow-ups are enough. Only the parts that change are rewritten, so larger apps stay fast to edit.
What can a Koi Launch Mini App do, and what can it not do?
Apps save each person's progress on the server, so it follows them across devices, and they can keep shared lists such as leaderboards. Telegram's colours, buttons and haptics are built in. Each app runs in its own sandbox, apart from your account and from other apps.
Honest limits: there is no custom server code or secret API keys, creators cannot sell apps or take payments, and apps open from the shared Koi Launch bot rather than from a bot of your own. If you need your own bot or a backend, build it with code on a platform such as Telegram's Bot API or a full-stack builder.
Does it cost anything?
No. Making, publishing and sharing apps is free, with 300 MB of storage and up to 100 apps. Koi Launch Go ($4.99 a month or $49.99 a year) adds AI inside your apps and 1 GB of storage.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to create a Telegram bot?
No. Your apps open from the Koi Launch bot, @koilaunch_bot, and from a link. You do not create or host a bot yourself.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. You describe the app in plain words and your AI writes it. Koi Launch hosts it.
Can people without Telegram use the app?
Yes. The same link opens in any browser, and the app can be added to the Home Screen. Friends you share with do not need Telegram.
Can I charge for my Mini App?
No. Koi Launch does not allow creators to sell apps or take payments through them.
How do I undo a bad change?
Ask your AI to roll back. Every publish is kept as a version, so you can go back in one message.
Does it work in ChatGPT and Claude?
Yes, both. Add the Koi Launch connector once in either one.
